Using the MOLUSCE (Modules of Land Use Change Evaluation) plugin in QGIS 20.18, land use and land cover (LULC) scenarios for the years 2030 and 2040 were predicted. MOLUSCE, a widely used plugin, leverages the Cellular Automata (CA) model and incorporates a transition probability matrix to estimate potential LULC changes. The CA-ANN model in MOLUSCE provides a robust framework for predicting future LULC scenarios, offering valuable insights into potential changes in the study area (Islam et al., 2023).

I was working with thousands of combined PDF maps, each originally having a unique name, but the individual files were deleted to save space. My task was to split the combined PDFs and rename each split file to its original name, but Adobe Acrobat defaulted to sequential numbers. Instead of renaming manually, I wrote a Python script to automate the process and streamline the task.

The Sankey diagram depicts the interchanges of land use in Swandip Island, visualizing the flow of transitions between different land cover types over a specific period. This diagram highlights the movement of areas within the vegetation to other land uses, such as agriculture or settlement development, illustrating the scale and nature of changes affecting the coastal island ecosystem.
